Debate Club

Being able to articulate your opinions and statements accurately is an important and impressive life skill. Through Debate Club students are given an opportunity to discuss relevant topics while learning how to improve their vocabulary and articulation simultaneously. Debate club has been running for four successful weeks with a range of topics discussed, such as homework, junk food, death penalty and much more. Students have found that they enjoy the freedom to express their views, opinions and concerns openly in a controlled environment as this has encouraged students to form friendships in outer social circles as well as build their confidence in English and in other areas throughout their school life. Others have found that building these skills early is a useful steppingstone to careers they wish to pursue, such as law. It is great to see how these students have flourished since attending this club! Debate club, Tuesdays, 2:50-3:35, H22.
