Year 8 Remote Learning 15th/16th July

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have worked hard to minimise the disruption to learning and maintain full time provision either in school or remotely. During the current academic year, we have been pleased to see that our pupil and staff attendance to school has been well above the reported national average. Unfortunately, COVID-19 is impacting not only on pupils and our community, but also our workforce, and we have, this week, faced increased staff absence due to the requirement of a number of our staff to self-isolate. As a result of this situation we have needed to make the difficult decision to close the school to Year 8 pupils from Thursday 15th to Friday 16th July. During this time pupils should not attend school and instead access lessons remotely using Teams, and the accounts previously issued. We acknowledge that this decision will impact on families, however as you will appreciate, we are operating in a national context in which the increased number of COVID cases continues to impact schools. This decision will be reviewed over the weekend but at the time of writing we expect your child to be back in school on Monday 19th July. The school remains open for Years 7, 9 & 10.

Remote Learning

We will be holding an assembly via Teams at 9.00 on Thursday morning to go through expectations for the two days and how to access remote learning. Pupils will find the link to this in their calender on Teams.
